The Thanjavur Thalayatti Bommai — literally "Tanjore head-shaking doll" — has been rocking its clay and wood head for generations, centuries ahead of the West's "invention."

So when people ask why a studio in Bangalore is building India's first bobblehead brand, the honest answer is: we're not importing a trend. We're reviving a birthright.

A quick detour through bobblehead history: 1842, a Russian short story compares a man's neck to a "wagging plaster cat." 1960s Major League Baseball, same cherubic face on every player. 1999, the Giants' giveaway resurrects the whole category. 2020s, custom becomes the default — no more generic faces, no more waiting weeks for a factory in another hemisphere.
